AWARDS This page will list local award winners (including the ACT SF Awards).
The ACT Region SF Fund The fund was set up in 1992 in order to administer the annual ACT Region Awards, as well as to fund raise and promote the region's science fiction and fantasy clubs and independent fanzines. The Region is a geographical area that extends from Young to Bombala and encompasses the Australian Capital Territory. The inaugural ACT Region SF Awards were presented at the Canberra SF Society's CIRCULATION convention. Any member of an ACT Region SF Club or subscriber of an ACT Region based fanzine was entitled to nominate and vote in these awards. The awards were last presented in 1995, due to a sharp decline in nominations. The funds are, however, held in trust by the ACT SF Information Group, until such time interest revives and someone is nominated as Awards Administrator. Note that submission for grants can be made for Canberra SF events through the ACT SF Information Group committee@act-sf.8m.com. (An Annual General Meeting is held in January each year).
